Fort Myers Art Walk | Live Painting

Held on the first Friday of each month, Fort Myers Art Walk transforms downtown into a vibrant, walkable arts district. First Street is closed to traffic as galleries, artists, and local businesses open their doors to the public, creating an evening centered on creativity, connection, and culture.
Visitors can explore new exhibitions, meet working artists, and experience live demonstrations, performances, and music throughout the district. Since its debut in October 2008—and its official recognition as Fort Myers Art Walk Day in 2010—the event has become a cornerstone of the local arts community.
More than an evening out, Art Walk offers a chance to engage with art in a meaningful way. Conversations happen naturally—between artists and collectors, first-time visitors and seasoned enthusiasts—creating an environment where ideas, experiences, and perspectives are shared.
Why Attend
Fort Myers Art Walk welcomes a diverse audience, from dedicated collectors to those simply curious about art. The atmosphere is approachable and energetic, offering something for everyone—whether you are discovering new work, exploring different mediums, or enjoying the creative energy of the city.
The event also provides a unique opportunity to learn about collecting. Galleries and artists are present to answer questions, share insight, and guide visitors through the process of understanding and acquiring artwork. For many, it becomes the starting point of a deeper connection to art.
Experience the Night
With its combination of visual art, live performance, and community engagement, Fort Myers Art Walk continues to bring people together in a setting that feels both dynamic and welcoming. Whether visiting for the first time or returning each month, it remains one of the most engaging cultural experiences in Southwest Florida.
